Release!

Thanks for checking out my (game?) Xenocetacean Institute.  It's a perfect example of my weird, and a good showcase for my PAX engine, which I wrote in spring of 2018.

For over two decades I've been procedurally generating things.  Mostly alien spaceships.  It's easy to do, 'cause no one has ever actually seen an alien spaceship.  I've stayed away from procedurally generating human faces, because everyone studies faces from the moment they're born.  I think that anything else (procedurally generated) falls between these two extremes.  Which is why, over 10 years ago, I thought it'd be easy to procedurally generate whales.  Very few people see them or interact with them regularly.

But!  Never try to procedurally generate a '57 chevy.  That's not what procedural generation is good for.  And earth whales are very well known.  So even back then I was imagining making ALIEN whales.  My game Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator has "space whales" in it, but I wanted more complex, water-borne whales.

So after I wrote my new game engine (I call it PAX, cause it's short to type), my interest in this project was re-ignited.  It still hasn't been a smooth road to this point, and I know I can do better.  But, if there's a player that would like this little weird of mine, I wanna get it into her hands.

I saw your lightening talk at roguellkecel and I enjoyed it. Good luck with the project and finding an audience for the alien whales.

Thank you!
